ARP Update:
Hey guys/gals/peeps/friends…. I wanted to post an update on what’s been going on in the world of A Ransom Plea lately.
As you guys know, we started ARP three years ago, and we have had some awesome times in those three years, and met some awesome people. We have seen God move in ways that have blown our mind and made it obvious to ourselves and to everyone around us that we are nothing and can do nothing without Him.
He has blessed us with our talents, and the opportunity to play music with our best friends – and getting to spread the Gospel of Christ in the process! He has blessed our ministry, and continues to do so in such great ways.
Lately, each of us have felt God speak to us about where He wants us to be and the direction that he wants our ministry to take. Just to squelch the rumors, A Ransom Plea is not going anywhere. This is not a split, or a bad breakup; it’s just a change of personal direction. We are all still friends, and will continue to be friends, whether we are playing music together or not.
Having said this, Brandon and myself will still be going strong and making music. A Ransom Plea will return to the original vision of bridging the gap between Christian Radio and Top 40 Radio. Our goal will be to reach not only the churched, but also the unchurched. In Matthew 9:12, Jesus says, “It’s not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” and Luke 19:10 reads, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” These verses sum up what we are passionate about.
For several months, Spencer has been feeling God guide him into a role of leading corporate worship in a church setting, and pursuing full time ministry. We fully support him in this endeavor, and will continue to be partners in ministry. Brandon and I will be planting the seed that Spencer will then help to cultivate.
Michael also feels that he is being called in a different direction. He is planning on moving to Tennessee to further pursue recording, music and any ministry opportunity that God has for him. Please pray for God’s direction to be clear in his life.
The four of us have reached a fork in the road. We have chosen to go down the path that God is leading us. Spencer, Michael, Brandon and myself would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our fans, friends, and family. We appreciate your love and support over the last few years. And we hope you will continue to support A Ransom Plea, and pray for us, as well as for Spencer and Michael as we journey down the paths that God has for us. This is not an end, but rather a new beginning.

Also, head over to our ReverbNation page to hear a PREVIEW of a new tune called “Ends Of The Earth” Post comments on our facebook page to let us know what you think!
Patience is so freakin hard!
Sometimes we get to a boiling point. Sometimes we wonder if time could move any slower. The only thing that I can think about during these times is that “time” to God is NOTHING! A year to Him is like the blink of an eye, it’s here then gone.
We as a band have tried our best to practice patience, but at times it’s hard. No one is perfect and we all struggle with things. Help us in praying for more patience!
To put things in perspective: In case you didn’t know, there are children in the world who will not have food today. There are kids who will not have clean drinking water today either. Did you know that every few seconds another kid dies from a TREATABLE disease? That breaks my heart! THERE IS GOOD NEWS THOUGH! You can help by sponsoring a child through Compassion International! Just go to www.compassion.com and get started today. I encourage you to search for kids who have a heart on their picture. This means they have been waiting 6 months or longer to be sponsored! Join us in helping these kids!!

Man, THIS REALLY SMELLS!!
Did you know that Americans spend more for garbage bags each year than 90 of the world’s 210 countries spend for everything.
Can you believe that we throw SO much away and some have NOTHING!! Pray about sponsoring a child today through Compassion International!

Are you KIDDING!!??!!
Did you know that 745,000 children died of measles in 2001? The total cost to vaccinate them would have been only $558,750. We spend five times that much on chewing gum each and every day of the year.
Not to say there is anything wrong with chewing gum, but just think of this…SERIOUSLY! We spend more money on fast food a WEEK probably then what it would cost to sponsor a child a month…just $38! www.compassion.com

Love?
Did we make the cut in the competition…no, but we feel this is a blessing in disguise! I want this to allow us to take the time to focus more heavily on more important things…
If you are following @chasegentes you might have some what of a heads up…
We as a band have really started seeking God’s direction on partnering with a ministry. We feel so blessed to live in a country that anything is possible. We are able to pursue a dream that so many children in other countries cannot. I (Chase) have felt as though we have turned a blind eye to those in need. We want to be a voice for those who are hurting in our country as well as other countries and help these ministries in every possible way to get the word out!
I will be posting more information about this in the days and weeks to come as more details unfold. In the meantime, I will also be posting some pretty staggering statistics that will absolutely blow your mind, so stay tuned!
Below I have listed several ministries that we will hopefully partner with in the future. We want to encourage you to research and pray for each of these ministries and would love for you to get involved with us.
If you want more info on our ministry, please visit our website at www.aransomplea.com and check us out.

[Here Among The Thorns]
In You, Lord I take refuge
For You are my rock, my fortress
You have found me here among the thorns
just a couple thoughts from the Psalmist…
